Yeh Hai Mohabbatein is probably one of the most popular daily soaps currently running on Indian television – but some of the subplots of the show are so bizarre that they actually leave me dumbstruck
For those who don’t know, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein is loosely based on Manju Kapoor’s book Custody. But after two years of a successful hold on TRP, the plot has somewhere gone extremely out of focus. After religiously watching the show and giving you regular updates, I’ve learnt that the show is way too unreal. Why I say so? Read on to find out…
#No second wife will bring her husband’s first wife back in to his life. Nor will she convince her husband to accept the former wife in his life so graciously. After Shagun (Anita Hassanandani) gets separated from Ashok (Sangram Singh), Ishita (Divyanka Tripathi) brings her and Aditya back to the Bhalla house to live with them.
#Have you heard of any woman running in an airport trying to hit her husband. Well a few months back, when Raman (Karan Patel) decides to leave India and settle in Singapore, Ishita tries to stop him at the airport. In anger, she runs after him in the entire airport to hit him and bring him to his senses. Very bizarre!
#No real life couples break in to song and dance at the drop of a hat. I’ve lost the count of the number of song and dances between Raman and Ishita in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein.
#Kids in our household have a limit to how much they are allowed to argue and intervene into an adult’s business. YHM’s Ruhi (Ruhanika) is like a cupid, always seen advising Raman on how to behave with Ishita and tips on how to romance her second mother.
#If exes never leave their former partners even after separation, the world would have been a different place. In spite of leaving Raman, Shagun and Ashok kept prodding and poking into Raman’s life and business. From my knowledge, people always find reasons to stay away from their exes.
#A real life dentist and business man would ideally have no time to even sit down and talk to each other due to their hectic schedules. However, YHM’s Raman and Ishita seem to have all the time in the world for their family jhamelas, so I wonder when do these guys work and who brings money home?
