Never-ending hours, innumerable plot changes, tight deadlines and budget constraints, TV is said to be a challenging medium for actors for a variety of reasons. However, every year we see a number of actors earning high praise for their performance. We have tried to take motley of actors from different genres for this year end list irrespective of the TRP ratings of their shows. Here are some of the names…
Rajeev Khandelwal
Show: Reporters
The Reporters actor is one powerhouse performer and he left an impact this time too. As the ruthless boss of a media organization he was bold, brash and irreverent. The actor’s chemistry with Kritika Kamra was also loved by all. Youngsters loved their pairing and Rajeev earned bouquets as unusual.
Shilpa Shinde
Show: Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain
Every actor will tell you that doing comedy is really tough. So, an actress who excels in that definitely finds a place in our list. Shilpa plays the bubbly and innocent Angoori Manmohan Tiwari on the show effortlessly. The audience is gaga over her acting and all that we can say to the makers is Sahi Pakde Hain.
Tejaswi Prakash Wayagankar
Show: Swaragini
There are many seasoned vamps on TV but here’s a relative newcomer who’s made them sit up and take notice. Pretty with an innocent face, Tejaswi has nailed the role of the frustrated, scheming, manipulative and border-line psychotic Ragini with rare panache. Though she reportedly wants to quit the show in search of positive roles, we feel she simply rocks. In fact, so much that people want to get inside the TV and hit her. Beat that!
Divyanka Tripathi
Show: Yeh Hai Mohabbatein
Ideal bahu, loving mother, detective, ghost and now a superwoman fighting off a crocodile. Is there anything that Ishita can’t do? TV shows have convoluted plots and actors have to given in 200% to make them look as believable as possible. Divyanka has done that superbly throughout the year and kudos to her!
Siddharth Nigam
Show: Chakravartin Ashok Samrat
The young man’s six-pack abs, flexibility and chiseled looks made him a great choice to play the young Emperor Ashoka but Siddharth proved that he had the acting chops as well. From the intense father-son sequences to the track with Ahankara (Tunisha Sharma), he’s proved he’s deft with emotions.
Shakti Arora
Show: Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi
The daily serial might have lost some of its charm and intensity due to plots and sub-plots generated to keep the lovers separate but Shakti Arora’s performance as Ranveer/Milan has been loved throughout. We don’t know if the current track will boost the TRPs but Shakti has been the show’s saving grace on so many days!
Monica Sehgal
Show: Dostiyaan…Yaariyan…Manmarziyaan
Blessed with a strong role of a reserved small-town girl wanting to make her mark in the world before getting hitched, Monica echoed the sentiments of millions of Indian youth through the role of Radhika. People loved her chemistry with Arjun (Aham Sharma). The lady is back in action as Bahamani in Ashoka proving that its versatility that drives her.
Ronit Roy
Show: Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar
The seasoned veteran once again stole hearts with his nuanced portrayal of Dr. Nachiket. The theme of renewed love between a divorced couple, was an unique one. Ronit’s sensitive performance took the show up a few notches.
Shraddha Arya

Some of the kickass histrionics in 2015 have come from TV’s vamps. As the glamorous Ayesha Sareen, who wants all the power and title to herself, Shraddha’s played the character of the ruthless cunning woman with flair.
Ssharad Malhotra
Show: Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap
It has been a year of supernatural, mythological and historical dramas. The handsome actor’s performance as the valiant Maharana Pratap has been appreciated by the critics and audiences. Ssharad’s intensity added the X-factor to the show for a long time.
Drashti Dhami
Show: Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani
She made a comeback on a TV show after a hiatus and boy, what a return it was. Chosen to play the lead in one of most lavish productions on TV, Drashti is adorable as Gayatri, the moneylender’s daughter, who becomes the queen of Amerkot. The fact that Siddhant Karnick (Ranaji) and she look great together is another USP.
