In the last episode, the Bhallas were talking about the menace that Shagun(Anita Hassanandani) has become for Ishita(Divyanka Tripathi) and were wondering when her spirit will leave Ishita’s body. Ruhi was adamant to talk to Ishita but Raman(Karan Patel) tried to explain to her that Ishita was ill. Ruhi didn’t listen and approached Ishita, calling her Shagun. She spoke to her, addressing her as Shagun and asked her to leave Ishita’s body and let the family live in peace. Ruhi’s words backfired as Ishita/Shagun lost her cool and lashed out at the little one.Later, Raman was seen having a word with Prateek and telling him that something needed to be done for Shagun’s spirit to be ousted from Ishita’s body. He even had a word with Abhishek who told him that the gun was found inside Ruhi’s bag and that someone was conspiring against the Bhallas. Raman decided to meet Ashok, thinking that he was the only one who could talk to Shagun’ spirit and ask her to leave Ishita’s body. Raman was insulted by Ashok and asked to leave. The episode ended with Ashok claiming that the game has just begun and there’s a lot that the Bhallas are yet to see.

In the upcoming episode, we will see Ashok making a statement, that would leave the viewers confused. Ashok will be seen talking about a plan which he had schemed with Shagun and will state that it is incomplete. Ashok will say that the plan will be finally be complete and all the blame will be put on Ishita! Abhishek on the other hand will finally learn the name of the person who purchased the gun.

What ‘incomplete’ plan is Ashok referring to? Did Shagun and Ashok conspire against Ishita before she killed herself? Was Shagun only pretending to be nice and conspiring against Ishita all along? Stay tuned to find out!

In the last episode, we saw Vandu buying crackers for the kids, for the occasion of Diwali.She panicked when she couldn’t find her wallet as she had left it in her college. Suraj appeared out of nowhere and offered to help er out. He suggested that he pay for the expenses. Vandu was hesitant at first, but later gave in. Meanwhile, Abhishek learnt that the person who had ordered for the gun was Manoj aka Maddy. The nickname was revealed by Shagun’s spirit via Ishita’s body. Abhishek questioned Manoj about the gun but the latter denied knowing anything about it and said that he had not purchased the gun. Meanwhile, Vandu had a word with Bala and told him that Suraj offered to help her out and was being supportive. Bala asked Vandu to have word with Suraj and ask him to get Ashok(Sangram Singh) to talk to Ishita(Divyanka Tripathi). He suggested that she could bring Ashok home and make him talk to Shagun(Anita Hassanandani) and convince her to leave Ishita’s body. Vandu agreed and asked Suraj the same. Suraj spoke to Ashok and convinced him to speak to Ishita and pretend to be supportive, in order to gain Raman’s trust. The episode ended with Ashok coming to the Bhalla house and speaking to Ishita.

In the upcoming episode, we will see Ashok talking to Ishita. The latter will talk to him about their last dinner date. Ashok will be shocked as he will state that only and Shagun knew about the dinner and plan. Ishita will tell Ashok that she’s Shagun and will ask him to complete their plan. Ashok will be determined and state that this is the end for Raman(Karan Patel).

On the occasion of Shanti Havan, Ishita tries to find out who is helping Ashok

There is more intrigue, drama and revelations in store for the viewers of Yeh Hain Mohabbatein. We have seen how Ishita (Divyanka Tripathi) and Shagun (Anita Hasanandani) have teamed up to expose Ashok’s devious plan to kill Raman (Karan Patel). ACP Abhishek (Vivek Dahiya) is helping them in this endeavour. They want to find out who is the woman who has a sprained hand and link her to Ashok.

In the coming episodes, we will see Ishita and Shagun trying to unveil Simmi’s secret. When everyone gathers for the Shanti Puja, Inspector Abhishek will look for the woman who has a hand sprained. Viewers will remember that a grinding stone was flung at Raman and Shagun said that whoever lifted it must be having an injured hand. Ishita is also noticing Simmi’s weird behaviour since quite some time but she is unable to believe that she would conspire to kill her brother, Raman. As per sources, she is not exactly planning to kill him but is hiding some secret from the Bhalla family. In the mean time, Ishita has confided her plans to Bala’s mother (Shruti Bapna) about exposing Raman’s killers.

Simmi’s life has been quite turbulent and months ago we saw how Ishita managed to save her from getting married to Subbu (Amit Tandon), who wanted revenge from the Bhallas.

While viewers were expecting Sarika (Sarika Dhillon) to be the villain, the disclosure of Simmi as an antagonist has added a new twist. Stay tuned to this space for more updates…

The leading actors of Television get a chance to showcase their glamorous side on Telly Calender every year.

This annual calender follows the same format of Dabboo Ratnani’s calender where the who’s who of B-town are featured in sizzling avatars. A shopping media event was held recently for the Telly calender girls. Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’s Anita Hassanandani aka Shagun was seen present at the event. The actress decided to show up in an all black get up. Anita was seen wearing a black and white net top, which she teamed with a a pair of black pants, sequinned metallic heels, and ox-blood lips.

Though Anita manages to floor us with most of her red carpet looks, I’ve got to say that this one was rather disappointing. The entire attire came across as dull and lacked a certain and much needed classic touch. Had Anita worn a simple black top with a heavy, chunky chain, it would have made her look chic.

Same goes for actress Barkha Bisht, who decided to turn up for the event in a plain grey top, a pair of denims and flip flops!

It’s rather surprising to know that Barkha chose to sport a pair of pink colored rubber flip flops for a semi-formal event as such. Though one doesn’t need to be out there with their attires, but I believe Barkha’s turnout was a bit too casual for my liking. Flips flops are cool, if worn otherwise for casual street shopping. There’s something called as appropriate dressing which sadly, Barkha seems to be unaware of!

Sara Khan on the other hand made an effort to dress up for the event, so kudos to her for that. The actress turned up a black gown which she teamed with a golden chain.

In comparison with the others, Sara’s outfit stood out. But  her choice of footwear. The actress sported a pair of black shoes with the dress! Bad move, Sara. Had the beauty worn a pair of heels, it would have worked well with her look.

One would think that Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 9 is the most popular reality show on TV as of now. The controversial series has been a hit with the janta, since season 1. But looks like season 9 is failing to meet the mark. The BARC report for week 44 is out and it shows that the weekend episodes of BB9 have failed to beat Colors TV’s other popular shows- Comedy Nights Bachao and Comedy Nights With Kapil! The weekend episode of BB9 has a rating of 1.8 (1.5), which is lower than CNB 1.9 (1.8)and CNWK (2.4 (1.4). Surprising right? Looks like weekend episode of BB9 couldn’t keep ahead of the race, despite having Salman as the host. Now, let’s move on to daily soaps.

Saath Nibhaana Saathiya has been ruling the BARC charts of late.The show starring Devoleena Bhattacharjee and Rupal Patel, is a family drama and is being well received by the audience, since the last few weeks. The series in the number one show on the charts, this week as well! Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel’s Yeh Hai Mohabbatein has come on top. The show had been slacking but looks like the horror track in the series, helped regain its popularity. Gear up for some major drama on YHM’s latest episode!

In the last episode, we saw a fight taking place between Mrs Bhalla and Sarika. Upon being told that her Paneer dish was too salty, Sarika picked up a fight with Mrs Bhalla and told her to do everything herself. Ishita(Divyanka Tripathi) intervened and asked Sarika to mind her words when speaking to Mrs Bhalla. Sarika stormed off and Mrs Bhalla- Ishita came to a conclusion, that Sarika must be upset with something else. Later, Ishita tried to call Shagun(Anita Hassanandani) but realized that her phone had been swapped with Raman’s by mistake. She panicked thinking that if Shagun called Ishita, the ring would go to Raman(Karan Patel) and all hell would break loose. But she was relieved when Raman returned her phone and told her that it had been switched off. Later, Shagun, Ishita, Abhishek and Prateek met up to discuss their next game plan. Ishita said that she would act possessed again in order to make Simmi reveal her secret. The episode ended with Ishita deciding to put Simmi in the spot with her drama.

In the upcoming episode, we will see Ishita acting possessed by Shagun’s spirit once again. She will act like Shagun, which will leave Raman and Mrs Bhalla shell shocked.

In the last episode, we saw Suraj receiving a diamond necklace from the jeweller, who told him that the diamonds used are pure. Suraj purchased this necklace for Vandu and asked the jeweller to not tell anyone that the diamond necklace is real. Meanwhile, Sarika was seen scouting for jobs and cursing her luck. She enquired about a job in the hospitality sector and asked her friend to forward the company her CV. Later, Mrs Bhalla got busy with the Diwali preparations and asked Simmi to help her out. Simmi stated that she was busy with some freelance work and left the house. Suraj visited the Bhalla house and handed Vandu her diamond necklace. She said she wouldn’t accept it without paying the amount for it and gave him Rs, 30.000, as this was the amount Suraj quoted. Meanwhile, Ishita(Divyanka Tripathi) was getting dressed for Diwali and Raman(Karan Patel) took the opportunity to share a romantic moment with her. The episode ended with Simmi returning home and Ishita deciding that she will let the truth out in the open this time.

In the upcoming episode, we will see Ishita acting possessed by Shagun’s(Anita Hassanandani) spirit once again. She will act like Shagun, which will leave Raman and Mrs Bhalla shell shocked. She will accuse Simmi of meeting Ashok and will finally confront her, as Shagun.

In order to make her possession act look convincing, Ishita will physically hurt someone. But who? Find out!

In the last episode, we saw Mihir(Raj Singh Arora) telling Raman(Karan Patel)  that he was certain about Ishita putting up a fake act regrading her possession. He suggested that Ishita(Divyanka Tripathi) was merely acting possessed and wasn’t the same in truth, as she had never hurt anyone from the Bhalla family. Raman and Mihir decided that they would try and figure out, why Ishita was doing so. Later, the two had a word with Prateek who manipulated them into believing that Ishita was actually possessed, as he didn’t want the plan to be revealed. Prateek called up Ishita and asked her to meet him. He told her about Raman’s suspicion regarding her behaviour and asked her to mildly injure someone, in order to prove herself. Ishita vehemently denied. Meanwhile, the Bhallas decided that they would call a tantrik home to cure Ishita.

In the upcoming episode, we will see Ishita acting violent and this time, she would take it too far. The tantrik will come home and Ishita will kick him out of the house. Furher, she will try to attack Romi with a knife! Apart from this, Raman will get suspicious about Ishita’s behaviour. She will prepare butter chicken and will offer it to Raman, who upon seeing this, will storm off. Shagun will inform Ishita that never had butter chicken prepared by her as he didn’t like the taste of it. Ishita will get worried as her secret will be in danger.

The supernatural series is grabbing eyeballs with its grand production values and suspense

The BARC ratings for Week 45 are here. In the channels, there is not much of difference with Star Plus holding on to its numero uno position. While Saath Nibhaana Saathiya might not be loved by critics, there is no denying that the murderous thoughts of Gaura and Kokila have hooked the audience. It is the success of Naagin that has come as a surprise. Here is a quick look at ratings on BARC this week.

As the world celebrates the idiot box, TV stars talk about the change they want to see in the industry in India

The TV industry is a very dynamic one in the West. Sadly, when one talks of Indian TV, the first thing that comes to our mind are the saas bahu sagas. For actors, daily soaps are synonymous with long hours, zero prep time and absolute lack of diversity. On the occasion of World TV Day, we spoke to a few celebs about the change they would like to see on Indian TV.

Anita Hassanandani
I feel we need a bit of planning in the Indian TV industry. Also, we should have seasons of various shows. When episodes are shot in advance, one can keep a check on the quality standards of a show. Also, producers should stick to a definite number of episodes as decided in advance.

Shashank Vyas
As an actor, the one change I want to see in the TV industry is that creativity should remain because as time passes creativity vanishes. The working hours should be regulated. I don’t think TV actors are at a disadvantage because in less time actors have to show their best. It is a great training ground and we learn a lot.

Gautami Kapoor
I think TV shows need to become seasonal. In the US, people look forward to shows as they come with a new season. It will encourage creativity amongst an entire team. The audience interest will also be sustained and excitement levels will be higher.

Iqbal Khan
I feel a section of TRP ratings should be solely determined by what people watch in urban areas. As of now, TRPs are majorly influenced by what people see in semi-urban and rural areas. This is why we see a certain kind of content flourishing on the small screen. However, if we calculate what people in cities watch, we will see a very different kind of programming. Today, we have a variety of genres in films, we can see that on TV too.

Saurabh Pandey
The change I want to see in the TV industry is that actors should have scripts in advance which will help actors to prepare better. It will help producers also as we will take less time on sets. The payment should be done in thirty days. I can’t really say that TV actors are at disadvantage because once you understand your character then delivering becomes easier. It will be nice if actors, creatives, technicians and directors get more time to prepare the actor which might help everyone for good in all ways.

TV is changed a lot, some for the better, some for the worse. As actors, we all want to grow and learn better things. It is all about what the viewers’ want, so the story changes accordingly. The rules have gone for a toss for daily shows. Timings are irregular, payment is delayed and anyone joins the unit without a professional card. The system should be improved. I don’t think that actors have any disadvantage but are challenged daily on an unimaginable level.

Adaa Khan
I feel production houses need to have a bank of episodes ready so there is no extra pressure on actors. At times, we have to work for more than 12-14 hours for weeks, which takes a toll on our health. Pre-planning and organization will improve the quality of programming and performances to a great extent.

Ali Asghar
I feel daily soaps put a lot of pressure of producers, actors, technicians, etc. Somewhere, the burden should reduce because on a set we have 90-100 people working non-stop without a break or consideration for their health, family or social life. This is insane. Telecast issues should be sorted out. Moreover, we should understand that it is a creative field. We are not doing mechanical work. In such stress, it’s impossible for makers or actors or writers to deliver quality product for weeks on end.

Abhishek Rawat
In terms of programming, of course, we want more than the saas-bahu soaps. I hope we have more youth-oriented shows in the country like Sumit Sambhal Lega, etc. Of course, ratings are an issue when it comes to such shows but they refresh actors. I also hope that besides regular channels, alternative platforms like Hotstar come up in the country, where we can see more varied shows. Also, we must have seasons like they do in the West. Actors will love it as we won’t have to do the same role for years at a stretch.

Gurmeet Choudhary
I think we need to fix timings as far as daily soaps are concerned. The task of generating content from Monday to Friday takes a toll on quality. In the late 80s and early 90s, we had shows like Circus that were telecast twice a week. The content was so good that we remember them till date. Today, the shows get TRPs but very few of them have recall value. As of now, meeting telecast requirements is the biggest task before a producer. This affects quality of performances, writing, technical side, etc. If a daily soap is shown even 3-4 times a week, we will have more time to prepare.

He was once the angry Punjabi munda who has now turned into a loving husband to wife Ishita. Yes we are talking about Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’s Raman, played by Karan Patel. As we all know, Karan is popular for his role as Raman Bhalla from the series and his chemistry with co-star Divyanka Tripathi(who plays Ishita), is adored by fans. This jodi is one of the most popular ones on TV and is pitted against the likes of Sandhya-Sooraj(Deepika Singh-Anas Rashid) from Diya Aur Baati Hum and Abhi-Pragya(Sriti Jha- Shabbir Ahluwalia) from Kumkum Bhagya. Raman and Ishita or ‘ÍshRa’ as they are popularly called, are liked more because of the backgrounds they hail from. Where Raman is a hardcore Punjabi, Ishita comes from a Tamil background. Fans like the jugaldbandi in this pairing and so do we!

Why is Simmi meeting Parmeet? Read on to know more!

In the last episode, we saw Raman(Karan Patel) hugging Ishita(Divyanka Tripathi) and apologizing to her for being suspicious regarding her behaviour. She asked him not to apologize and said that she was sorry for everything. Meanwhile, Vandu was seen busy with the preparations for Bhai dooj when some of the students from her college came knocking on the door. They accused her for favouring Sooraj, since he gave her an expensive necklace. Vandu came to know that the necklace he had gifted her was real and immediately called him up. After a few minutes, Sooraj ended up at her door and confessed to the necklace being real. She slapped him. Ashok too came to the Bhalla house and warned Vandu not to treat him with disrespect. Raman asked Ashok to buzz off, after giving him an earful. The episode ended with Ishita cheering Vandu up and asking her to join the Bhai dooj celebrations.

In the upcoming episode, we will see Abhishek and Prateek following Simmi to an unknown flat. They will show up at her door and she will panic seeing them. Simmi will ask the two to leave. Prateek and Abhishek however, will be adamant and will ask Simmi to let them in. Eventually, they will succeed and will be shocked to see Simmi’s ex-partner Parmeet standing in front of them!

I can’t believe the makers had us waiting this long for Simmi’s truth which is lame beyond words. Read on!

Unfortunately, there is a noted pattern in Indian television. When the makers run out of story ideas, they in simple words, fill our small screens with crap. They have nothing better to contribute to the already shitty plot line, so they bring in random angles, to keep it going. Because why end it when things can be stretched beyond limits right? The same seems to be happening with one of Star Plus’ most ridiculous shows, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. This series competes with Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, when it comes to producing stupid content.  Anyway, so coming to yesterday’s episode. The prolonged Simmi(Shireen Mirza) track finally saw its end. Let’s just say that it was unnecessary all along as the revelation that was made, was unimaginably stupid. But then again, what else can we expect from a show like YHM after all. So it turns out, Simmi was secretly meeting her ex-husband Parmeet all this while, as he is suffering from a deadly disease.

It was revealed that Parmeet was suffering from liver Cirrhosis and had not told Simmi about the same. She learnt about it during the time when the stone fell on Raman and informed Ishita(Divyanka Tripathi) that if Parmeet does not get a liver transplant, he will die. So all in all, Simmi decided to help Parmeet as he’s Ananya’s father.

Well good for her. But the big question is….WTF?

Makers, you kept us all waiting for THIS? Had Simmi been involved in some plot against Raman or some other Bhalla family, it would have been way more interesting. But you brought in the ‘illness and love’ angle and fu**ed up the plot further. We guess, that’s what you do best so it can only go downhill from here.

I say it again. RIP, YHM.

What is going on? Find out!

In the last episode, we saw ACP Abhishek interrogating Pathak, accusing him of murdering the watchman. Pathak maintained that he merely hid the body, as he found it in his car’s dikki and did not kill the watchman. After being constantly grilled, Pathak informed Abhishek as well as Raman(Karan Patel)-Ishita(Divyanka Tripathi), that his wife Trisha’s life was in danger. He told them about her gambling problem and how a bunch of goons had kidnapped her. In order to solve Trisha’s problem, Pathak had approached Ashok for a solution and mentioned that he might be responsible for the watchman’s murder. Later, Ishita informed Shagun(Anita Hassanandani) and Prateek about Pathak’s confession. She stated that Ashok is eager to kill Raman and if he learns that they know about his truth, he would be more keen to do so. She said that he would approach Shagun soon, in order to extract information about Raman from her. the episode ended with Ishita stating that she would have to act like Shagun once again and pretend to be possessed, in order to fool Ashok as he might just tell her about the informer from Bhalla house who is giving him information regarding Raman and his whereabouts.

In the upcoming episode, we will see Ashok inviting Ishita to his place. She will pretend to be possessed by Shagun’s spirit. She will then flirt with Ashok and even get intimate with him! Wow we didn’t see that coming. But if playing a part, why not play it all the way to make it look convincing, right/ Ashok will then inform her about the informer from Bhalla house and Ishita will be eager to know his/her name.

Who is the informer? Will Ishita find out about him/her? Stay tuned to find out!

In the last episode, we saw Vandu talking about this expensive saree that Bala bought her and how she wishes to return it, as she didn’t like the colour. Sooraj eavesdropped on her conversation and stated that she should enjoy Bala’s attention while it lasts. Meanwhile. Ishita(Divyanka Tripathi) visited Ashok’s place and posed as Shagun(Anita Hassanandani). She pretended to be possessed by Shagun’s spirit to woo Ashok and learn about the informer from Bhalla house who was giving Ashok all the information regarding Raman(Karan Patel). Ashok asked Ishita to be patient and asked her to perform on their favourite song O Saathi Re, which she did. After this ,Ashok went out to meet the informer and hugged Ishita goodbye, in turn placing a mike in her bag that could record her conversation with Shagun. Ashok wanted to learn whether Ishita was possessed or was pretending to be. Ishita followed him to a hotel, in order to see the informer. The episode ended with Ashok spotting Ishita and learning the truth about her fake act!

In the upcoming episode, we will see Sarika asking Ishita about her phone. Ishita will tell her that she had left it in the auto while coming back and the driver had it. Sarika will come across as highly tensed, which would make Ishita curious. Later,  Ishita will follow Sarika and eventually stop her to tell her, that the game is over!

Will Ishita suspect Sarika for being Ashok’s informer? Will she accuse Sarika for trying to kill Raman? Stay tuned to find out!
